Born in West Cork in 1974, Ayelet graduated from the National College of Art and Design in 1996, returning to complete a Masters in ceramic sculpture in 2009. She has been working as a sculptor since 1999 and is best known for her ceramic figures, although she also works in bronze and cast concrete.
To date, Ayelet has exhibited both nationally and internationally, representing Ireland in 2004 at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Fair and at home has shown at Sculpture at the Hallward, Limerick City gallery, Farmleigh, Gormleys Fine Art and Sculpture in Context where she recently won an award for large work of distinction.
The exploration of the female figure is at the core of her sculpture, while her style is influenced by the streamlined graphics of Art Deco with references to classical sculpture.
Ayelet's work has been commissioned both publicly and privately, including Percent for Art. Collections include the Office of Public Works (OPW) and Limerick City Gallery as well as numerous private collectors.
