Campaigners in Scotland staged a protest in support of greater access to abortions for women in Ireland. The Edinburgh protest coincided with similar events in Dublin and across the world.
Since the death of Mrs Halappanavar, the Irish Government has come under great pressure to reform the country's complex abortion laws.
Minister for Health James Reilly has indicated that the HSE inquiry into Savita Halappanavar's death is proceeding, despite a decision by her husband not to cooperate with it.
