Stonevilla, 297 North Circular Road, Phibsboro, Dublin 7 (Photographed 27-11-2012), a photo by infomatique on Flickr.
I first came across this house in 2008 and it appeared to be in reasonable condition. When I passed again in 2011 I was shocked by its condition and now in 2012 it appears to beyond repair. Here is how it was described some years ago:
"An enduring and endearing landmark residence which has been in the same family ownership for over a century, enjoying a prime position in the heart of Phibsborough, within walking distance of Dublin City Centre. This historic residence, a protected structure, stands on approximately 0.27 Ha (0.665 acres) and subject to acquiring the necessary planning permission, the grounds could be sensitively developed to accommodate a small exclusive residential scheme. The sale of this utterly charming 19th century villa style residence represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire a distinctive Victorian residence in this exciting and dynamic location on the doorstep of Dublin City Centre. The property was originally constructed circa 1847 and now requires modernisation and refurbishment."
